Feedback drives GMP's move into DEXA
We have been working closely with Gundagai Meat Processors and have just completed our 97th production since commencing there. We have processed 30,000 lambs at GMP since January this year. We are excited about the technology we are able to use to grade lambs at GMP and as a result, the feedback we are provided with is first class. This improves overall efficiencies and ensures that we can all strive for continual improvement from a producer level right through to the end product.
GMP have just installed a DEXA X-ray unit at the end of the slaughter floor
DEXA will provide information on lean meat yield, bone percentage and fat percentage for each carcase
DEXA will help GMP and KC Natural to be able to respond to the market according to the information gathered in the plant

Red meat vital to global food security
Cattle Council of Australia says red meat will continue to play a vital role in meeting global needs in terms of the demand for dietary protein, as well as management of the land and the conversion of inedible plants into protein suitable for human consumption.
According to Tony Hegarty “Australian beef in particular has compelling human health and environmental imperatives and will continue to form part of a balanced diet for Australians and our customers overseas."
The Australian beef industry is continually striving in its commitment to environmental, social and economic sustainability.
