Kenny's Creek Angus 2019 Female Sale
12 June 2019 .
The Kenny's Creek Angus Female Sale was held at "Hillgrove" last Wednesday 22nd May. People carefully picked the genetics that were needed for their program and this was reflected in a fifty percent clearance for an average of $5,431 and the highest price ever paid for a Kenny’s Creek female at $24,000. There was a bias towards females capable of going into a donor program and which represented strong carcase particular IMF, positive fat and trait leading growth. Not withstanding the difficult season the females presented to a very high standard and showed the benefit of underlying positive EBVs for rib and rump fat.

Given the recent dry conditions you can hardly complain about being at the centre of a storm. This is the storm that doused Hillgrove in 82mm of rain on 11 Jan in a matter of hours. They estimate that 90% of the soil degradation happens from 10% of the weather events (storms). Not hard to imagine when there is so little ground cover on so many farms around the state.

Kenny's Creek Angus 2018 Bull Sale
26 September 2018 . The Land
On Wednesday 5 September, Kenny's Creek Angus held their Spring Bull Sale. In a year where many of the customers did not make it due to the widespread drought, it was great to see so many new clients at the sale. The top priced bull went to a client who last purchased a bull from KCA 10 years ago (which was only retired this year). Pretty good if you can amortise a bull over 10 years! It was wonderful to see the regulars back amongst it at the sale to pick up some great valued bulls.
